The Vessel is designed and built with diesel propulsion (CODAD) with a single shaft configuration with CPP. The Vessel has double bottom and double hull in way of cargo holds with a primary purpose to replenish combat ships with fuel, ammunition, spare parts, victuals and personnels in order to extend the range and duration of naval combat missions.

FSS is capable of

• Transfering fuel to Naval surface units while underway at sea using abeam and stern transfer methods
• Transfering all types of stores, victuals and personnel to naval units, while underway at sea.
• Handling multirole helicopters
