The Discipline

The piping team is the largest discipline in SEDS by virtue of the piping-intensive retro-fit projects being carried out. The piping discipline has a basic design group as well.
Experience and solid subject-matter-expertise are the hallmarks of the group. Professionals with varied project backgrounds in piping engineering have gelled together to make the piping group what it is today.
Most of the projects are done on the Cadmatic platform for design in a 3D environment. Flow analysis jobs are done in Pipeflow software.
Projects are executed by dedicated teams with clear responsibilities and execution plans. Regular retro-fit projects are run as per an approved flow-chart and the process is audited quarterly for conformance by an internal auditor from another discipline.
3D modeling is an important element of the process for retro-fit projects and goes through a 50-point check-list to ensure quality. Subsequently, internal model reviews and Client model reviews fine-tune the design before extraction of production drawings.
