Smart Engineering Design & Solutions Ltd. is a premier marine design company headquartered in the Bahamas with a branch office in Kochi, Kerala, India.   We are a fast growing company with highly motivated designers producing state of the art ship designs meeting the modern requirements of ocean going transportation. We are looking for an experienced marine designer for our General Manager (Design) position with sound technical knowledge in order to guide our team members in their design creation process and administration of design projects.

Your profile
- You have at least 10 years of experience within the marine design field with experience at a senior design manager level (experience in dry cargo bulk carrier design will be a plus).
- Preferably have an overall knowledge of basic / hull / outfitting / machinery / electrical / piping aspects of marine design, be able to guide and co-ordinate between design teams in working out optimum design solutions.    
- You are able to work in a rapidly changing environment and prioritize duties accordingly and meet deadlines.
- You must be a good coordinator and have the ability to motivate your teams members.  Manage personnel evaluation processes periodically.
- You must have good communication skills as you will be interacting with our clients. 
- You must be able to work with and have knowledge of basic marine design software, classifications’ and regulatory bodies’ rules and regulations. 
- (You must have reasonable level of knowledge of classifications’ and regulatory bodies’ rules and regulations. Good awareness of softwares available and used for marine design).
- You must be able to budget and control costs for our design projects. Prepare design schedules, monitor and maintain adherence to committed schedules.
- You must be team-oriented and participate in knowledge sharing.
- Be able to manage the selection and recruitment process.
- You are flexible and have the willingness to work variable hours and that you are able to travel as required.
- You are able to work and live in Kochi, Kerala, India.
